Here is a rough outline for how your 1000-word paper might be structured. This is my suggestion, but I welcome innovation( you don’t have to do it this way). And humor. If you are funny, please be funny.
Page 1: Introduction (draw in your reader here to connect them to the topic) and thesis (what you will prove in this paper), background info including a short summary of your “something” and why you selected it.
Page 2: Your summary and analysis of article 1. What do you agree with and why? What do you disagree with and why? How does this support your thesis?
Page 3: Your summary and analysis of article 2. Your summary and analysis of article 1. What do you agree with and why? What do you disagree with and why? How does this support your thesis?
Page 4: How has your sense of this “something” be affected or altered since you began working on this topic? I want to know what makes this thing’s strangeness important or interesting in the world of other strange things AND what makes it compelling in our normal day-to-day world. Lastly, what research should be done next given your findings here?
