Description

Essay #3 Comprehensive Final Critical Response Essay (3-4 pages/20 percent) Rhetoric deals with what we talked about in our class: entering a conversation, playing the Believing Game, using rhetorical strategies or moves, and establishing Aristotle’s three pillars. You will craft an essay that addresses what we’ve covered.   Interact with the following prompt: Compare and contrast two characters from the movie Eye in the Sky. Focus your examination and discussion on the characters’ appeals (ethos, logos, pathos) and rhetorical strategies or moves. Does the character use strong reasons to argue their case—or weak?—or even unethical?    Option 2: For those who prefer to avoid “language,” you may watch 12 Angry Men (1957 or 2007-8 versions).   NOTE: Avoid summarizing the movie or plot. You may certainly use other sources to define the appeals or the Believing Game, etc. Include on Works Cited page.   Page Length: 3-4 pages. A full page counts as one page.
